WOW. 凄い。Japanese 101 is exactly what I dreamed it would be! Ever since my love of Fruit Ninja on iPad I knew that Japanese was my language. Just the feeling of utter satisfaction as you slice an assortment of exotic fruit with a japanese style sword called a KATA-kana. Just kidding. Just wanted to put a pun in there to start off the blog. But I am not kidding about being excited to take Japanese 101! Being a Japanese native till the age of 6, I always felt hollow and empty in my teenage years. Perhaps it was the Japanese language that began to fade ever since I came to the US or the feeling of homesickness I feel even know I'm technically an American. Anyway, coming out of my high school which did not offer Japanese, Japanese 101 is a dream come true. Although it has nothing to do with Fruit Ninja and frankly that was almost racist, the even assortment of knowledge we get on reading, writing, and speaking is like picking fruits of knowledge from a bonsai garden. So unlike those who take Japanese to experience something new, for me it was more like regaining something that I had lost.  I am most excited about beginning to speak Japanese AGAIN. When the time comes to start speaking Japanese, I will jump into it with open arms ready to regain what was in the back of my head for a very long time. Although I can tell the pace at which we are going in, even for someone who already knows some Japanese, is quite fast, I am ready to be challenged and pushed to my limits in a class that I love with all my heart. I will still play fruit ninja on the side, but form now on its べんきよばかり!。
