Self Reflection

As the year comes to a close, it is time to reflect on my Japanese. In the beginning of the year, I emphasized my speaking as my number one priority but I also hoped to improve in all aspects of Japanese. Indeed, throughout the year, mostly due to the textbook, my vocabulary and kanji knowledge increased significantly. My grammar knowledge has also increased a lot and my ability to understand Japanese has become much better, given that we used Japanese much more in class than in 1st year. I do however, find that my speaking ability, though it has gone up indefinitely, has much to improve and it is a perfect time to do so now that I have the vocabulary and grammar to practice with. This year was a big year for my Japanese writing and reading and I hope that this coming summer in Ishikawa,  I will be able to put the knowledge I learned in class to use and really improve my speaking ability. By next year, I hope to say that I am speaker of Japanese!
